The Edison Arts Society is holding their 2nd Annual Art in the Garden Tour, from 10am to 5pm on August 18. The tour will include gardens throughout Edison and Metuchen with a full range of settings from shade gardens to vegetable gardens, with refreshments at each site. For many of the gardens this may be your only chance to visit and see them. Tickets are $20 per person in advance and $25 on the day of the tour. Tickets can be purchased at Kreans Gallery and the Brass Lantern in Metuchen. They also may be ordered by mail through August 10. Checks, payable to the Edison Arts Society, may be sent to Joanne Stern, Center 4, Middlesex County College, 2600 Woodbridge Ave., Edison, NJ 08818.

Art in the Garden Tour 3 is gearing up to be a spectacular event with a "Rock Garden" of teen musicians and a "Sculpture Garden" featuring "Living Sculptures". Mark your calendar for Saturday, July 19, 2008! Same price as the 2007 Tour.
What a gala event was Art in the Garden 3! While the temperature was typical of mid-July in NJ, more than 100 guests took advantage of the unique event to tour the five residential gardens and enjoy the art exhibited and performed in them. From "take-away" poetry to visual art created right in each garden, to live music to "living sculptures": each garden presented a distinctive attraction beyond the natural environmental art each resident gardener developed. In addition to the Master Gardener, and Birding expert on site to answer the questions of individual tour-takers, this tour included an agricultural garden created by a landscape architect and vegan chef. To say there was something for everyone is to put it mildly!
Stay tuned for news of the 2009 date of Tour 4...even more ideas are afoot at the Edison Arts Society!!
