Locked churches

Someone is going around England to see if church doors are locked. And then they are creating a massive report on it including graphs by diocese and maps of counties.

That's not all I'm doing; the locking maps are but a small part... but a very important part.

In the US almost all churches are locked. There is usually a sign outside proclaiming that the church is for prayer - but how can one quietly pray in a locked church? John Muir, as he travelled on foot and penniless, slept on the tombstones in cemeteries, but now the cops would come and arrest you.
If you want to pray, the best places are mosques - they are usually open. American Christianity is now just another big business, and Jesus himself could not find a quiet and empty space for reflection and solace.
