Research opportunity in Geography

The Department of Geography, Rutgers is looking for a full time research assistant to work between June 16 and August 29, 2008. The research assistant will be working in a project looking at ways to measure forest resilience in Southern Yucatan, Mexico. The research assistant will be mainly in charge of gathering a time series data set of MODIS products for the area of Yucatan, Mexico and to conduct a preliminary analysis to measure landscape fragmentation. Experience in the use of remote sensing software (ERDAS preferable) and GIS (ArcGIS and/or IDRISI) is important.
