The UN is encouraging everyone everywhere to celebrate World Environment Day today. It is a lot like Earth Day, but after the school year is over. They have a link to a video about Earth From Above's Yann Arthus-Bertrand and his new film Home which debuting tonight in Central Park and at the Eifel Tower. The giant landscape architecture and planning firm, EDAW, soon to be Design + Planning at AECOM, has a great Flash celebration of World Environment Day. And Steve Hamblin wrote a nice piece in Landscape Architecture about the value of increasing native perennials in our landscapes. It isn't exactly the most recent issue, but the topic is still timely.
